I believe that special collections and archives, especially university archives can act as a nexus between archivists, academic researchers, and community historians, including family history researchers. Archives can provide not only access to unique research materials but provide a physical space for all three groups to share and learn from each other, benefiting the practices and outcomes of all researchers.
